 $76.9 Million Contract to Rebuild Forklifts
JLG has received an order from the United States Army to rebuild 500 All Terrain Lifter Army System (ATLAS) telehandlers and 300 other rough terrain forklifts. Valued at $76.9 million, this contract has a final delivery date of April 2014.

Michelin launches UK's earthmover tyre repairs programme
Michelin has launched the industry's first accredited earthmover tyre repairs programme, designed to raise the standard of repairs and ensure increased safety, performance and value for operators.
Launched in partnership with tyre repair materials and equipment specialist Rema Tip-Top, this initiative has been developed by Michelin as a worldwide pilot ahead of its possible introduction in other countries.

Louise Porter, Michelin's Earthmover and Industrial Market Manager, adds: "The nature of the environment in which earthmover tyres operate, coupled with the value of each tyre casing, means many earthmover tyres are repaired during their lifetime. "

Orders For Sound Attenuated Pumpset
Pioneer Pump Limited, UK has won orders in Scandinavia, one of the most environmentally conscious markets in the world. The order is for the new PPH100 pumpset based on the PP64S1, a market leading solids handling self priming pump, capable of flows from 75 to 375 m³ per hour and pressures of 12 bar whilst still being able to pass a 76 mm solid.

Used extensively in the oilfield and other solids handling applications, has become the standard of quiet high pressure sets used in many industrial applications today including, mining, petrochemical and other industrial markets.

Beware of Fake Tadano Cranes!
Counterfeit Tadano products have been appearing on the market worldwide. They are mostly of a mix-and-match type being made up of parts of used Tadano machines and those of other manufactures and sold as being used Tadano products.

Characteristic of the fake Tadano cranes which have so far been identified are :
(1) models not corresponding to our existing ones (ex: TL-255E, TG-550E)
(2) Attachment of a protuberance likes dials(knobs) on the AML inside the crane cab (No dials are used in our products.)
(3) Fitting of a logo mark similar to ours. However, the characteristics of counterfeit Tadano cranes will not be limited to the above as the counterfeiters are constantly changing what they do.

Plant for Retread Materials in Thailand
Bridgestone Corporation is to construct a new plant for the production of pre-cure tread for retread tires. This will help increase sales of its retread products as well as develop its solutions business in Japan, Asia, and China. Construction of the new plant is scheduled to start in July 2009, and production is expected to commence at the facility in November 2010.

New Face of JCB
Spotted in London, a JCB telehandler with a difference- a redesigned company logo - the new face of JCB.

Having used the same style three letter logo since January 1958, JCB has now started to roll out new machine branding.

First seen on Loadall telescopic handlers being used to assist with a major artworks project in London’s Trafalgar Square, the new rectangular JCB machine logo provides “more stand-out” according to JCB CEO Matthew Taylor.
