Innovative change in new generation The new ET18, ET20 and ET24 compact excavators from Wacker Neuson The new ET series of compact excavators, in the class of 1.7 to 2.4 tons, is the result of what the company says is “the most innovative evolution - clearly increases in performance strength and efficiency, plus increases in cabin comfort with optimized wheels and arm systems at the focus of the developments”. “Proven innovations were maintained and combined with fully new development approaches,” said Gert Reichetseder, managing director of Wacker Neuson Linz GmbH. The Yanmar water-cooled 3 cylinder diesel engines deliver 13.4 kW (18.2 hp) and fully comply with the latest exhaust standards. The optional automatic idling speed control reduces fuel consumption and the noise level of the machine. The company says that the unique cooling concept, with newly developed cooling air ducting, makes it possible to work under full load with an ambient temperature of up to 45°C, and results in the longer operating life of the components. The optimal arrangement of the filter units, easily removable covers and large opening angle provide for easy accessibility and reduced maintenance times.. Users will notice the new cab which gives the appearance of being substantially larger. The lower and wider cabin entrance ensures easy stepping in and stepping out. There is more legroom and the foot pedals fold out of the way. Access is from either side. Controls are positioned for operator convenience to facilitate precision control, A new, modular joystick carrier boxes and hydraulically steered driver pedals, together with new, stepless proportional control for the auxiliary control circuits substantially improves the governing of the individual operating speed during operation. The split large-area windscreen makes it possible for the driver to fix both the lower and upper part of the screen under the cabin roof and thus protect the screens against damage. It is not possible to take out and separately store the lower windscreen. |
