Putzmeister buys concrete mixer manufacturer Intermix

Putzmeister Holding GmbH ("Putzmeister") signed the contracts for the acquisition of Intermix GmbH on 19 July, 2012. This transaction strengthens Putzmeister, a leading manufacturer of concrete pumps, in its market position and expands its product line to include additional construction machinery.

"This acquisition rounds out our portfolio perfectly," said Norbert Scheuch, CEO of Putzmeister Holding.

The company, Intermix, was founded in 1984 by Hans-Georg Stetter, son of truck mixer pioneer Georg Stetter. His company, Intermix has developed rapidly into one of Europe's leading manufacturers of truck mixers and special mixers. The company's customer service and logistics centre for the delivery of the machines are located at its headquarters in Heimertingen near Memmingen in southern Germany. These days, truck mixers from Intermix are in worldwide use.

There have been two changes in the management of Liebherr-EMtec GmbH in Kirchdorf an der Iller, Germany, the divisional holding company of the earthmoving division of the Liebherr Group.

At the end of June 2012, Karl-Heinz Knor and Hermann Moll retired after many years at the service of Liebherr. They will be succeeded by Wolfgang Remlinger and Joachim Strobel, who will also remain Managing Directors of Liebherr-Hydraulikbagger GmbH, which is located at the same site.

ROHR acquires IDRECO Sand and Gravel Dredge Design & Manufacturing Operation

Ellicott Dredge Enterprises (EDE) is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Rohr International Dredge Holdings, Inc. acquired the principle business assets of IDRECO GmbH , including its current backlog, inventory and all associated intellectual property (IPR), on June 29, 2012.

IDRECO, which is based in Heerenberg, the Netherlands, approximately 100 km from Amsterdam, will continue to remain there and operate as a newly formed subsidiary of Rohr International Dredge Holdings, Inc. named IDRECO B.V. ROHR has operations in Mannheim, Germany and Wisconsin, USA.

IDRECO is a leader in deep digging electrical suction and cutter suction dredges serving primarily the sand and gravel and mining sectors, especially in Europe. In addition, IDRECO has all the patterns and IPR related to the well-known Bageema dredge and pump line, associated with almost 100 delivered units. ROHR/IDRECO will continue to support those installations with parts, service, and inventory.

Successful naming and launch ceremony for ARTEMIS by IHC Merwede

IHC Merwede has successfully named and launched the self-propelled cutter suction dredger, ARTEMIS, in a ceremony on 30 June 2012 at its shipyard in Kinderdijk, The Netherlands. The ARTEMIS, which is being manufactured for Van Oord, is one of the largest cutter suction dredgers ever built in The Netherlands for a Dutch dredging company.

The ceremony was performed by Mrs AB van den Driest-Sorgdrager, who is the wife of Mr CJ van den Driest, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Van Oord. The contract for the design, construction and delivery of the vessel was signed between Van Oord and IHC Dredgers, part of IHC Merwede, on 20 December 2010. The ship will be delivered in the first half of 2013.
